Paul doesn’t seem to think of the Old Testament as a prelude to the ‘real’ story of the gospel. he seems to think of it as part of the ‘real’ story.

The Gospel is not a formula to master, but a story to be lived into.

Rube Goldberg gospel begins and ends with me. but God’s playing the long game.

What is the long game?

• the whole story of the gospel points to a King and a kingdom

• the story culminates in the redemption of all creation

• the Long Game gives the church a mission and a calling
